Build failed with an exception when building with Cordova

Andrey Aug 03, 2015

I'm trying to create a new app with Cordova using com.catchoom.craftar plug-in, but when I execute the command "cordova run", it says that it failed with the error code 8: "You may not have the required environment or OS to run this project". You can see the error printscreen on the next link:

I'm using the SDK "craftar-image-recognition-sdk-android".

What can be happening?

I hope you can help me to understand the cause of this issue.

The cordova plugin was built for the Augmented Reality SDK, not for the image recognition SDK. You can download the augmented reality SDK here

To run the cordova example for Android, do the following:

  1. Create a new cordova project:
    • cordova create hellocraftar
  2. Add the android platform to the project
    • cd hellocraftar
    • cordova platform add android
  3. Install the CraftAR cordova plugin in your new cordova project
    • cordova plugin add com.catchoom.craftar
  4. Extract the Augmented Reality SDK you downloaded from our website and copy the contents of libs into platforms/android/libs in your project.
  5. Copy the contents from platforms/android/assets/www/craftar_example/ to www/
  6. Build and run the application
    • cordova run

Note that this instructions are already available when you install the plugin via cordova plugin add com.catchoom.craftar
