Cloud Image Recognition to load experience configured in website

Mike Jan 15, 2017

Looking at https://support.catchoom.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1887576-tutorial-how-to-use-cloud-image-recognition-on-ios-with-craftar

i get to the point of finding an item within didGetSearchResults
but how do i ”Obtain information/experience for each item” ?

My sample experience setup on the website automatically loads and plays via the Demo application, but how do i load the experience in my app from the CraftARItem?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

Our SDKs are distributed including a project containing simple examples. For Cloud recognition they include recognition with single shot and with finder mode. In both cases the the information extracted from the item is an URL that is opened in a UIwebview.

You can find the code for single shot here: https://github.com/Catchoom/craftar-example-ios-image-recognition/blob/master/CraftARSDK_Examples/Example%201%20-%20Single%20shot%20Image%20Recognition/CloudRecognitionOneShotViewController.m#L78

and finder mode: https://github.com/Catchoom/craftar-example-ios-image-recognition/blob/master/CraftARSDK_Examples/Example%201%20-%20Single%20shot%20Image%20Recognition/CloudRecognitionOneShotViewController.m#L78

As you can see the URL is extracted as simply as using item.url

You can find the description of the CraftARItem class and the information it contains here: https://catchoom.com/documentation/image-recognition-sdk/ios-image-recognition-sdk/classes/

Best,
Elena

Elena - i know its been awhile.. but i have this working with url's now as your example shows. But how can i render the CUSTOM stuff that shows up on the CraftARItem ? In this case, item.url is nil and item.custom has a url in it. Are there tutorials or examples showing how to render the 3d model / image / video?

Thanks
Mike
